This blog is a chronicle of the quest for justice for Alec Littlefield. I ask you to put yourself in our shoes as you read what we have gone through. We have reached a new place and need your help. After going out and seeking the help of experts, we are at a point we need help. That help is in the form of public awareness. If we can show enough people care our new found friends are pushing for media support. We need this to tell the truth of how this case was handled, how our “public servants” responded and the “system” actually works. The only way we can make tomorrow better is to address the deficiencies head on and make changes that result in equality in our justice system.
This is all about Alec. A brother, son, friend.
Summary of the last 5 years:
1. Alec passed and his death, the scene, witness, and evidence were all treated as a suicide without proper handling or investigation
2. When questions were raised and inconsistencies were presented Hempstead County refused to listen. In my opinion, they doubled down on their original assumption and were not open to considering nor admitting they might have been wrong.
3. The prosecuting attorney would not even return calls
4. The Arkansas State Police refused to get involved
1. NOTE: They should have been involved from the beginning – Another failure
5. The Attorney General of Arkansas refused to get involved
6. Numerous elected officials were notified and only one was willing to even hear the situation
7. Evidence was reviewed by outside parties and they agreed there were problems
8. Experts were consulted on death scene investigations and this handling was the text book example of what not to do.
9. Advised by this expert to expose truth
10. Blog started and finally got response from Prosecuting Attorney and she asked case to be reopened.
11. Case reopened which now blocks all new FOIA request.
12. A lot of will happens, no action
13. New Coroner elected in 2019
1. Reviews and advised will pursue change to cause of death
14. Reached out to forensic experts to review

Why should we have to go through all of this when it should have been done right the first time? Is our system so broken that we cannot disagree with the people that are paid to serve us?
We must not settle for what we have but strive to get it right. We must have the hard conversations and challenge “authority” when they fail. We have tried to do this with respect, giving all the named parties opportunity to come along side instead of walking away.
The public needs to know how these people really act when not in a photo op.
