Land of Laws

On April 28, 2023 the president signed a proclamation on Law Day stating in the first paragraph that based upon our Founding Fathers, America would not be a land of kings but a NATION OF LAWS.

How useful is a law if it isn’t enforced? Do we have a two tier Justice System ? Is treatment fair, and what is fair?

You know who follow the laws? Law abiding citizens.

You know who doesn’t ? Criminals.

So what is the name for those who do not enforce them ? Aside from speed traps, sting operations and accidentally being in the right place while a crime is in process law enforcement respond after the fact. Don’t get me wrong, I do not want the Minority Report. We as a society have been told that justice is blind and everything has rules and procedures with checks and balances to ensure fairness. We ignorantly believe this until we don’t.

We have mobs stealing stores blind and they aren’t stopped or procesecuted. I know you will say, “but that doesn’t happen here”. So what does happen here? A group of people decide what gets investigated and how. And what can you do if you disagree? In a business you file a complaint, boycott, speak to the manager, submit to better business bureau, or pass a law. If it is anything associated with a public servant — there is no recourse unless your situation is one of the currently emotional areas that fit the media’s narrative.

But if it is an elected official you can fix it through the next election. JOKE Look at how much time you may have to wait and then, refer to section above, everyone that hasn’t experienced what you have thinks everything is great so don’t rock the boat.

I believe that I am only one of many that have lost faith (in other words , not ignorantly bliss) in our public servants and systems as a whole. These systems are the people we have to interact with. People can serve their own motives and not those whom they are supposed to serve.
