It has been a while since I posted on here. First thank you to those of you who still follow.

I am not a career blogger. This blog came into existence based upon the guidance of a professional. If you are up to speed you know the quest, if not, here is a brief summary:

If you disagree with a ruling (death of Alec), you have only two choices:

Kiss up to get them to reopen and do their jobs

if they don’t-> Air the truth to shame them into doing their job

Can you guess where we are on that spectrum?

So, this blog was never setup because I am a career blogger wanting followers. It only came into existence to have a voice. To try to air the truth. You need to know how your public servants act when a horrible event occurs.

There is a double standard. I do not believe you can review the facts and not come to the conclusion that who you are determines how they do their jobs.

This blog is based on documenting this. This is not about revenge, it is about doing your d@$% job. Public servants should serve the public, RIGHT?

If we do not have a good enough system, then the system should be fixed.

Enough of this, you know I have no faith in the current system and I can’t make you care, so here is an update:

There is now an ALEC LITTLEFIELD page on Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/583861205844017/). This came into existence because Alec passed in 2015. The “investigation” was opened in 2018. We FINALLY in 2020 received notice that the cause of death was being changed. People will provide their spin. You either believe what you want or look at facts. If you choose to believe what you are you are told without checking, then I believe you are part of the problem of where we are as a society. Go ahead and either confront me or de-friend me, because it won’t matter to me.

Over time I have been overly cautious. The investigation is Re-Opened so I didn’t want to compromise or interfere. I have been quite. That is what they wanted…..

So, when I received notice that they were going to change the cause of death (this is the first real activity since reopened) I reached out to some experts. Not local experts. I went onto a “global” forensic website.

I just want you to understand. I have been told “leave it alone”, “don’t rock the boat”, “you need to move on”…. I can’t.

I look at how this was handled by all levels and go “REALLY, this is how our public servants serve”. Those of you that know me know, I try to follow the rules.

This is BS and time to call it out. If you are friends with those involved and don’t like what I am saying, do what you want…. Defriend, defend, let’s go…. But be willing to back your stance if you want to go toe to toe.

So, after expert review there is disagreement with various parts. You need to know how your public servants served. You make your own decisions. If you choose to continue to follow, you will start seeing links. If not, God bless and good luck.

As we have discussed on this blog, Alec’s case is not the only one.  Many people cannot face the continued fight.  Again, for those that have followed I will be restating several things.  You have to relive over and over again.  I fault no one, but there are many others that are like me that cannot not keep on.  I have had the opportunity to find some wonderful new people that have broken and missing pieces of themselves.  There has always been a standing offer for others to share their stories through this blog,  to have a voice when it seems no one listens.  Below is one:

Some people speak of a new year as a time to start over.  Hey, this is a new decade even.  The problem with this reasoning is you can’t get a do over.  If I could it would be 4 years ago October.

Why continue with this blog?  Obviously there are no new updates because no one is doing anything.   Over the last year we had hope that the investigation being reopened would generate….  something….  but I believe that is all false hope.  We have been promised so many things.  Investigators sent to a training course in Florida for one.  I did see where Sheriff Singleton was named by Governor Asa Hutchinson to the Criminal Justice Advisory Board till 2023.  One of the items this Board is responsible for is training including crime scenes.  I wonder if they will critique the handling of Alec’s case?   Put yourself in my position and tell me what you think I would think  of Asa’s appointment.

We were supposed to be “kept in the loop”.  These are phrases that look good on paper and appear to have concern for the public but there is no ACTION to support these statements.  So if I have no hope in the investigation and Hempstead County why continue with this?

So many people I speak with have genuine concern that by me disagreeing with the powers to be that it will be detrimental to me or my family.   For anyone that feels this way, this blog is for you.   We can not and were never intended to live in fear of disagreeing with the government or any of its representatives.

From life experience, if it happened to me it can happen to others.  I don’t want another family to not get the level of professionalism they deserve because those in  control choose to take the easy way out.

I have spoken to several people that suffer as we do with these “suicide” rulings.  The problem is that most of them can’t keep the wound open and deal with the trash talking and gossip that exist in a small town….   People tell them that the “experts said” but I am telling you they are no experts and should not be given that acclamation.

It is CRITICAL that the initial investigation and physical evidence are handled properly.  These are the experts….

We must do one of two things.   Train and ensure that those investigating follow protocol empowered with the knowledge to do the task at hand, or remove the local from the equation and ensure someone with the skills required investigates so that this doesn’t happen to others.

October 30th, 2019 is four years since the night that everything changed.

Most people have at least a general plan of how they expect things are going to go.  Your kids will have struggles, but there are those milestones that you expect to happen.  Driver license, graduation, something else…., marriage?,  kids?, ….    Then you get a wake up call that reality is not based on what you think.

• Alec had only been 17 for ten days.
  • He was at a location with adults.
    • Then the unthinkable happened.

Those of you that have followed this blog have seen hope be raised when after much time and calling out Alec’s case was reopened.

We have been told that …… (such and such will happen)….

Bottom line, nothing has happened except that by reopening the case no freedom of information act request have to be honored because it is active.

I have no expectation that Hempstead County will:

• Explain why the investigator stopped pursuing follow up as he told me he would
• Explain why the scene was treated as a suicide and not as a death scene for investigation
• Explain why those involved didn’t even get a ticket (this time or in the past times the police were called out for underage drinking)
• Explain how the coroner didn’t have detailed notes
• Explain why this wasn’t called into the ASP as a crime against a child when  it fits every legal definition of the law

Time does not heal anything but it does give you time to learn to exist.  Most people would give up at 4 years of being stone walled.  Yes, that is what I believe is happening.  Time is teaching me to manage my emotions as best as I can.   This will continue to go forward but it is evident that it must be done “smarter”.

What can be done?  What happened here can be used as an example to change laws.  The laws are all we the public have.   Those that administer the “law” don’t have checks and balances in this area and that is the problem.  You have no avenue to dispute or have review.  It is totally at the mercy of the investigating office.

Justice in a small town has only the check and balance of elections as was pointed out to me.  Does nepotism exist in the world, you bet. It is truly amazing how much control sits between the district attorney, sheriff and his office, and the coroner.  There is no state oversight or avenue to disagree.  The only influence you have is if they take pity on you or you can exert the power of election pressure.

As stated above the writing of tickets rest with the law enforcement agency but the pursuit of charges rest with the district attorney.  It is at their discretion what is pursued and what isn’t.  A lot of this decision is based upon the feedback of the little circle of power referenced above.

I was advised once, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.  My answer was, if the goal is to get water in the horse you can hold it’s head under till you see bubbles…..

There are three things that could have happened to Alec.

• Suicide
• Accident
• Murder

We do know that alcohol was involved which would inhibit his abilities in any of the three above scenarios.  That is why there are laws against this and against adults allowing it.

Investigations depend upon physical evidence to clarify what was possible and what wasn’t.   To verify that statements given are true or false.  Here is the problem.  This was called in as a self inflicted gunshot  and review of the police reports, handling of evidence, dispatch calls, and comments to the state crime lab supports that it was handled as such.   The preconceived notion acted on impacted everything from the arrival on the scene forward.

This could be just a mistake.  Maybe the people weren’t trained properly for handling this type situation.  It is one of the common mistakes made around the country as documented on this blog (by experts).   Most people don’t like admitting mistakes.  Many people will do whatever they can to prove they weren’t wrong.

We did begin new interviews.  I would not be surprised  that these are looking for statements to support the original conclusion.  Why? Because we still are not addressing physical evidence.  Conspiracy  theorist  have pointed out that there must be something else based upon the people involved and how nothing ever seems to happen to them, like they are protected.  I don’t want to go down the rabbit hole, but the lack of standards allows for conclusions to be drawn on theories because there is nothing else to base them on.

Bottom line, we will never know exactly what happened that night.  These four years have strengthened my resolve and my lack of faith in our system and many people.  Justice is supposed to be blind.  I know I can’t prove it but sure would place a bet that if it had been one their kids it would have been handled differently.

 

Alec,  17 forever.  You are remembered, missed and loved.

The quest will continue.  You deserve better.

 

Have you ever been waiting patiently in a long line and someone or a group cuts line?   The root of this problem is very common, but the response gets more complicated.

The root of this problem is the same for the inconsiderate driver that 1/2 mile after the merge left sign tries to merge and then gets mad if someone doesn’t let them in.  They park in the fire lane at Walmart causing such congestion that you can’t even get through.  They think the rules don’t apply to them.

The response:  Ignore, complain to everyone around you, say something and risk a head on confrontation.  Many of these people are bullies and not only do they think the rules don’t apply to them they view you as a problem if you say anything.

This is another dimension of the “go along to get along”.  The single event is just that but the message taken from it is the real problem.  Those that don’t think they have to follow the rules have this belief reinforced because they get away with it.  Those that are upset and don’t do anything feel defeated and those just watching the drama see the example of how they should handle it if it happens to them,  they should just let it go….

This threatening aspect is nothing but bullying.  This same thought process is transferred to those in authority.

Whatever you allow is your standard.

The last four years have been……   I can’t even describe.  They have been filled with pain and disappointment, love and support, doubt and fear, everything between hope from God and despair.

As I put this down the first thing that comes to my mind is Alec should be here, I love him and miss him so much it hurts.  Second is I don’t have to justify my actions or choices to anyone nor does anyone else that is going through loss, be it Alec or another loved one.

Writing is a difficult medium to communicate through because there are so many things that go on simultaneously but a statement is but a snapshot.

Through all of this, you can’t get so consumed that you forget that others are hurting also and that life keeps happening.  The internal battle is that you must go through what you must but not at all cost.  Guilt can come in a wave along with the despair due to the realization that you weren’t there for someone else that needed you.  Thankfully, people that love, forgive.

Something good must come from this.  Something must change in how this was handled.  You see our lives changed completely and forever.  The least that could be done is an honest assessment of how a death scene investigation happens so that the next time, maybe those people won’t go through this part in addition to the loss as we have.  We need the system to work the way we expected it would.  This can only be done through clear standards(rules) that investigators must be held accountable to and a mechanism by which to do this.

We need laws to protect our kids to be enforced.  I know that some will read this and straight way blame us.  That is fine, I am a father and should have protected my kids.  So you can’t add any more blame to the bag that I carry around on my back.  Those of you that want to argue this and take all liability away from the adults that were there, the bootlegger, the police that didn’t even write a ticket after being there numerous times, I will have that debate.  You will have to explain how they have no responsibility otherwise I won’t be derailed or side tracked because you aren’t wanting to have a true conversation that might actually move all of us forward.

Our lives are forever changed.  Nothing will bring Alec back.  I have been asked why am I doing this?   I ask you, how could you not?

 

 

• You perceive to know with whom you deal
  • But do you?
• You base your perception upon the things you have encountered
  • What if this is new?
• Decisions are based upon risk and reward
  • What if your assumptions are wrong?

The people with which I have dealt relating to Alec’s death and the following investigation assume that I will react as most (documented occurrences) meaning they will either swallow the swill which is provided or go away in frustration tiring of the fight.

Oh, you do not know what determination and resilience with which you have drawn mine ire.

Your arrogance to think that you will not be challenged is locked forever in a conflict with one who is willing to risk all for that which is right.   I dare to challenge those in authority when they fail to do what they committed to.

I tire of the games with which are being played with me.  I withhold the TRUTH on this blog which will make many shake, waiting on the never ending excuses for attention to the facts.

I know that most that read this don’t want to know the truth.  You will twist whatever is presented to support the view you have of the parties involved.  This fact is irrelevant.  If I can prove beyond excuse the failure then those that wish to side based upon personal favor will be deposed as fools.

I tire of the excuses.  Alec died on 10/30/2015.  ENOUGH.

Just for the record, I was told that investigators were going to this mystery class in April (by Sheriff Singleton).

• When I asked the result, no it is June.
• When I ask, oh it is postponed.
• Wait, Sevier County was going to review, I have no idea where this went
• They were going to keep me informed, I HAVE TO REQUEST THEN GET SOME EXCUSE
• Class is now postponed, so the NEW Coroner agreed to review.  Am I supposed to feel special?????   The coroner office is the primary one that botched this so this is not some golden gift…..

Here is what everyone should know, I have no faith that Hempstead County is working to help US  get to the answers of Alec’s death.  One that is cynical could argue they played nice to get past elections, but I am not cynical…. (you can look at the dates of cooperation and overlay with elections, if you want to check for yourself)

They did not do the initial investigation correctly and if I can get momentum I will get this addressed (working on it now).   We can present how each stage was handled and highlight and see how this shakes against understood norms within the US on death scene investigation.  I don’t need Hempstead County to give permission to have the case reviewed, I just need a party above reproach to do the review ( because my analysis isn’t good enough, you have to have an expert in today’s world)

Someone give me an app that will translate the 911 calls and I will post those so everyone can read how it was called in “someone shot themselves” and ran with as reported.   FIOA are great for this.

The Crimes Against Children as reported by Lt. Lafferty was not appropriate for this.  I want to change this law.  IF someone is allowing underage parties on their property they should be held accountable AND it should be required to be documented by the definition that has been detailed on this blog to be a child against children and therefore be subject to investigation by the Arkansas State Police (REQUIRED) so things can’t be dismissed like Hempstead County did.   Yes I need support to change the law or at least ad clarity because as I read it is clear.   A clear notice needs to be put out that if you are allowing parties at your property, ongoing, you are now subject to the Crimes Against Children Act for investigation.

For those of you that say I should submit to a news agency.  Well I did, but this came up right after the blue line and I must assume that that was the reason they dumped the story.   That or if Alec had been an honor roll student maybe they would.  I have an idea, everyone ask KSLA channel 12 what happened with that and let me know being they won’t return my emails.  Stacey Cameron was who came and obtained a copy of all information I acquired at that time.

Do not mistake quite for weakness or “moving on” as I have been advised.

I will never get Alec back through these actions.   People that should have protected him DIDN’T and not only were they not held accountable, no one wants to.  The investigation was botched by comparing it to norms and no one cares.   Excuses are all we are provided with time dragging on…..

How long can I wait, as long as it takes

• Those who ridicule only make me stronger
• Those who fail to keep their word are an enemy
• Those who hate us make us wise
• Your actions decide whether you be friend or foe
  • by being foe you force us to action
• Knowing the truth and being willing to sacrifice all for it is worth any price

In the world we live in, truth being revealed and dealt with as is lacks.

 

 

 

 

This blog is about Alec and the impact of not only the loss of a wonderful loved son, brother, friend and about the reactions and handling of the “event” by those responsible.     This is about ALEC.

I have to believe that from something horrible something good can come.  You may ask why would I believe this?  Because I have to.  Most people only believe what that want anyway so why is this so different?   What do I hope comes from this blog?

• If you were a friend of Alec, don’t let your memory be tainted by those saying suicide.  That isn’t proven.   Look at the investigation…..  how handled…
• That people that allow minors on their property TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for what happens.
• That we can either change the laws or clarify them so that people must take responsibility
• That people DO THE JOB THEY WERE HIRED/ELECTED TO DO for EVERYONE.
• IF you are suffering from depression, we help each other.
  • (not that Alec was but this is a personal matter).
• A forum for Grief to be expressed is provided when needed

NOTE:  If you want to undermine anything listed above, I view you as part of the problem, not the solution and will not tolerate being taken down the rabbit hole so that we miss the above targets.   I believe that nothing stated above is solely dependent upon Alec and his circumstances but should be goals at even a higher level.

I made a mistake and only posted the photo of the gun the other day.  This went off the rails to the Ray Bradbury level of what millions of ways can I be wrong.

Point:  The gun was chambered close and should have been open and it was on HEMPSTEAD COUNTY to prove that there was a reasonable reason for it to close.

Guess how I found this out????

The excerpt from the autopsy was read to me over the phone with Sheriff Singleton, Frank McJunkins and Investigator Dorman representing Hempstead County.  You see I questioned why no one would discuss with me anymore (wouldn’t return calls or text at all) so they set up a conference call to clarify for me.  On this call they READ THE FINDINGS to me.  The horrific details.  The question I asked was did you know Alec was left handed.  END OF CONVERSTATION.   This was when they were DONE.

By the way, still have not got a response to my email asking what was found when Hempstead County sent investigators and Alec’s case information to Miami Dade class.   I wonder if they even went…..

Ladies and Gentleman, Friends,

I say friends because most cannot stand the intensity that radiates from being associated with those of us invested and have distanced themselves.  I thank all of you that follow this blog and by doing so show support to me, my family, and to Alec.

I am burnt out.  I have tried to be “patient” and give ample opportunity for the “system” to do their whatever….    I am tired.   Have you ever had a broken part that kept everything else from getting done?  Maybe at work or at home.  Nothing could move forward until that part arrived.  Then the supplier keeps making excuses and tells you its coming.  There is no other supplier so you are at their mercy.   Thus is my life waiting on Hempstead County.   I have never had patience attributed to me, but I have tried so hard to give everyone time to do what is needed, I understand stuff happens.  This is ridiculous.  Just for the record, I save everything. So…

I was promised updates, but I have to email requesting an update.  On February 21, 2019 I received an email stating that two of the Hempstead County Investigators would attend a 5 day course conducted by Miami Dade County in April.  It was confirmed that they would take not only the case file but all information I compiled.  This is great right????

On April 22nd I asked for an update and received “They are scheduled to go in June”

Okay, stuff happens….

On June the 13th I follow up.  (considerate right to give time???)

I receive “I am out of state will be back the 24th”.

So, I follow up this week.  Today is the 26th and NO RESPONSE WHAT SO EVER.

There can be 5 million reasons now and I don’t care because it is obvious that the waiting and pain my family goes through is at the best not understood and the worst, doesn’t matter.

So let’s start reviewing.  .

The following is an excerpt from the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory Autopsy.

EXCLUDED INFORMATION  (this gets into details I would prefer to not share on here where unsuspecting people could read things they will never “unknow”)

 

SO, please understand, the state crime lab based their decision HEAVILY upon what was reported by Hempstead County , which we have shown on this blog was predispositioned to be a suicide based upon the 911 call.   PLEASE NOTE:  Not upset, not in a confrontation, not known to be suicidal, playing with a gun therefore Suicide.

I am still pondering the upload of the 911 calls for your review.

Please provide feedback on what you read here.  I welcome your feedback.   I have had people tell me I am foolish to pursue and those that support.  I can respectfully handle respectful replies.

 

 

If you follow this blog, you can tell I haven’t been active for a while.  The reason is that Sheriff Singleton has told me that Alec’s case and information I compiled is being sent with a couple of his investigators to a course in FL.  This is supposed to happen in June.  This is one of those situations where the class will review the file itself as I am being told.  I would like to hope that this is that final step where all can be disclosed on here as promised earlier.  I am being very cautious to not compromise any investigation activities, possible to our detriment, but time is all I have and the truth is the truth and doesn’t change.

There are always consequences to actions or in-action.  Time has a way of forming a perception in peoples minds based on what has been put forth.  It is like anywhere, the first one to tell their version gets the momentum.  As we can see in politics, if you put forth a lie it gets traction and people will believe it even if it is retracted later.  Sometimes people just choose to believe what lines up with what they want to believe.

There are real issues that should be dealt with.

• One of these is teaching our kids that they place their lives in the hands of the people they associate with.    If you are not that confident of the people you are with you need to understand the true risk.  To Alec, it was his life.  Don’t settle.
• Do not assume that people will do their jobs as you think they will.  We project.  We tend to think people think like we do, this is why our government struggles with terrorism, because everyone doesn’t see the world the way you do.  People in roles throughout our government must be held accountable, else they will just do what they want.
• Based on this, we need clarify if not change the law to clearly define that if you are allowing behavior that puts minors at risk, you will be held to account.   If you read the laws you will think this is already on the books, but as documented on this site that is not always the case.
• Time does not heal all wounds.   If you were to lose an arm, the arm does not regrow.  If you are punctured and debris remains it can grow till septic.  Something good must come ……, it must…..    This is what I hold on to.
